![]() Get Ready for the 2010 Temecula Fall Rod RunComing October 8 & 9, Featuring pre 1974 VehiclesThe Temecula Fall Rod Run is approaching very fast; it is being held October 8th and 9th. This year we are excited to have Mr. George Barris returning as the Grand Marshall. Come out Friday night and visit with George and then join him on Saturday along with the “Munster Coach” from the popular 1960’s TV series “The Munsters”. George Barris also built such famous TV and custom cars such as the Batmobile, General Lee, Kitt from Night Rider, Beverly Hillbillies Car and great Kustoms such as “Ala Cart” and many many more. Temecula Fall Rod Run we want to make a difference this year; with the large number of people unemployed and struggling for food; we are holding a can good drive. I encourage all to bring 2 can goods to the show to support the Temecula Community Food Pantry and more important to feed a hungry local families. We will have a trailer at the corner of Old Town Front and Main for you to drop off your donation. Let’s make this the largest can good drive in the history of Temecula. Think about it, we get about 45,000 people at the Rod Run and if each would bring only1 can good, wow, that would feed a lot of hungry people. So again let’s make a difference and show what a BIG heart the “Car Community” has.
Just like always let’s thank the City of Temecula for sponsoring this great event and we really need to send a BIG thank you to the Drifters Car Club who spends many long hours working the show. So while visiting the show and you see a City official or a Drifter volunteer give them a big thank you, they really work hard to put on the very best Rod Run. I also want to thank the P & R Foundation Board of Directors who now work year around to bring you the Spring and Fall Rod Runs. I must not forget to thank you the participants of the Rod Runs, without you the shows would not happen. As you may or may not know the proceeds from the Rod Run’s go to various Temecula based charities. After the Spring Rod Run I allowed the Drifters Car Club to pick charities to donate $10,000 too; when we gave out the money too five needy charities it was very emotional seeing the reactions of the various non-profits in which is struggling at this time accept the donation.
